About Big Book Ball
Our Mission
-The Institution Committee holds one yearly event to help us raise funds for the upcoming year, The Big Book Ball. All funds raised are used to purchase A.A. literature, such as the big book, for our volunteers to pick up at our monthly meeting and hand out at their H&i commitment. This is our only fund raising event and your contributions make a MAJOR impact on the lives of those locally housed or treated.
You may save a life and not even know it.
The Institution Committee is a great way to do humble service work. All that you need is 6 months of continuous sobriety to pick up an H&i commitment. We are always seeking new volunteers to help carry the message. The committee also serves our county jails and state prisons.
Feel free to get as dressed up as you’d like. This is a BALL. (We won’t kick you out for being informal)
This event is meant to be attractive to those of all ages and especially our predecessors, as a debt to their service. This event is all inclusive and if you scroll to the bottom you can reach out to us with any inquiries.
This year‘s theme will be a masquerade, although masks are NOT required for entry.
This is held at The Triangle Club on New Years Eve. Doors will open at 7:30PM. We will have snacks and drinks. Be prepared to dance!
The Big Book Ball is like a gigantic party. The last 3 years, in the minute leading up to midnight, we have displayed the ball dropping in NYC live and brought the new year in with The Lords Prayer.
Because this has been such a touching moment, we have decided to open the doors to EVERYONE at 11:45PM so all can join us. If you are finishing an Alcathon meeting please come join us after! This has historically been a very beautiful experience and we’d love everyone to join us.

What we do:
The Institutions Committee is a large group of A.A. Members who have 6 months of sobriety, have gone through our new member orientation, and have been voted in before and by the body representing the Institution Committee, in North Palm Beach County, Florida. These members have met certain requirements and bring A.A. meetings into different structured environments, including county jails and state prisons. We represent the northern half of the county due to its size and quantity of facilities in need of or requesting our service. We currently serve over 118 meetings a week, approximately.
The Big Book Ball is our only fundraising event and all funds raised are used to purchase AA literature for our locally served institutions, distributed by our volunteers, and are available for pick up at our monthly general meeting which is held at The Triangle Club on the first Sunday of every month at 5PM.
New member orientation is held prior to this meeting at 4:30PM.
